New Invaders

Recently Knotweeds (Japanese, Bohemian, and Giant) were added to the State's noxious weed list as List A eradication weeds.  Although we do not have a lot in Jeffco we do have some and are working to notify landowners when we find it.

These knotweeds form dense stands with many hollow stems.  Control includes removal or herbicide but will require persistance.  For more info vist us at

We have been amazed by how early some weeds are this year.

Dalmation toadflax is a month ahead and many are already going to seed.

It has been reported that Orange hawkweed is starting to bloom, another weed that is a month to six-weeks early.

Things Are Popping!

I was out yesterday and found a number of invasives sprouting.
Now is a good time to be looking at your land to start planning your control.
Here are a few photos of what I saw coming up this week.
